June 9 – Covid 19 Update

Almost 3 months since Governor Dolor’s pro-active Executive Order on March 13 2020, preventing people to enter the Province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. 2 months since our last article written explaining the situation from our perspective; see http://aldanmar.dulangan.com/covid-19-latest-update/ tourism income and hope for Puerto Galera’s citizens’ sustenance has deteriorated.

Mayor Rocky Illagan, recently announced he will endorse an Ordinance by local council which will restrict freedom of travel by tourists to his tourism dependent town; quote:
“We will call this as “No Booking, No Entry” policy which means that nobody is permitted to proceed to Puerto Galera if they have no prior booking arrangement with the resort or hotel in our town,” Ilagan told The Manila Bulletin in an interview after a coastal clean-up activity conducted in Barangay Sabang last Sunday.

The Mayor’s public announcement is at last a glimpse at what Puerto Galera residents and those involved in the tourism industry should expect, at least until he has the option to be re-elected in the year 2022.

In the meantime, Aldanmar Apartments will continue to accept private rentals in our zoned residential barangay Dulangan. All are welcome to stay, reside and live in and experience #AmazingPuertoGalera and the family friendly neighborhood of Dulangan through Aldanmar Apartments “on the beach”.
