Pictured above, builder and owner onsite in May 2004 to oversee lower level foundation and column progress.
Initially, the building was to be a freestanding, 3 floor house. However as construction progressed to the second level, the owner decided not to install third floor internal stairs and segregate the left and right rooms into apartments with internal stairs on each side of the first and second floors.
On completion of the 1st floor concrete roof slab (2nd floor terrace and bedrooms), a party was held for the 20 workers whom had hand mixed cement, sand and water for 18 hours straight. Unfortunately, the collection of progress photos have since been lost.
Building Permit No. 04-06-065 was issued by the Municipality of Puerto Galera on June 18, 2004. Estimated cost for construction of structure only was to be 1.4 Million Pesos and the owner’s signature appears as Permit applicant. Floor area is 413.5 square meters.
Over the coming years since the initial basic build, progress to paint, install terrace and balcony railings, floor tiling, stair banisters and fences with gates continued. Installation of water reserve tanks and pumps occured in the year 2016 after a redirection of water supply by Barangay. The top floor steel span roof and gutters were replaced in 2022, after an 18 year service life.
Present time descriptions of each apartment are detailed on the corresponding webpages.
